RSe unique insight

The Transformational Government Agenda sets high expectations that Shared Services, Corporate & Transactional Services, and Business Process Improvement (BPI) will greatly improve services for local authorities while simultaneously lowering costs. To test this hypothesis DCLG commissioned RSe to develop 13 in-depth case studies to compare shared services with single-authority improvement and to draw conclusions about which model delivers the greatest benefits and why.  The case studies were conducted over a very short period of 2-3 weeks, using a combination of telephone interviews, site visits and documentation review.  The case studies, and an overarching report summarising the key findings from the project, were used by the DCLG to inform its Sector Plans for future delivery of benefits.
